Stan Johnson comments (Dec. 13, 2017): "Picture was taken at the wharf at Regan, Ont., on White Lake.
Regan was the Abitibi Village next to Mobert, the First Nations reserve, at the mouth of the White River.

Steve Briggs comments (Dec. 14, 2017): "Here is another view of the Abitibi spillway at Regan, taken from the wharf, showing two winch boats (one of which is likely Esnagi) creating a boom."

"If the logs bug you...bitch".

The Ottawa Citizen Ottawa, Ontario, Canada 19 Sep 1970, Sat • Page 41

Article mentions Regan, and shows the Eddy VI winch boat near the Champlain Bridge. "As many as 41,000,000 logs are towed in a boom by one tug, for example the 250-horsepower, 18-ton, 44.5-foot-long tug, The Regan, which chugs downriver from Quyon."

41 million is an obvious typo, they likely meant 1 million.

"The Regan was built at Owen Sound by Russel Brothers in 1942 for the Abitibi Pulp & Paper Co. She saw service in Lake Superior for several years then was moved to Iroquois Falls. She was next sold to the Eddy Match Co. then to Upper Ottawa Improvement Co. and saw service towing pulp and log booms on the Ottawa River."

Chris comments (Aug. 1, 2019): "Just after painting it. If anything, it increased the hull length a little bit, which increases speed a little bit (you have to understand these guys treated The Great Tugboat Races like NASCAR, tweaking everything possible). The Regan was also fitted with an articulated rudder I believe the year after this."

Ted comments: "NOTE THAT THE REGAN HAS A NEW BOW ON HER..JEFF AVERY ADDED A NEW BULBOUS BOW TO HER TO MAKE MORE STABLE IN FALLOWING SEAS AND MAYBE RACING....HE SAYS IT WORKS....SORT OF A FIRST FOR A TUG I WOULD SAY."
