Another Big Russel Bros. Built Boat Leaves for Far Distant Scenes
The Mossey, a Steelcraft tug built at Russel Bros. Ltd. plant here for the Federal Government, is seen above as she was shipped on flat cars for Lake Winnipegosis, where she immediately took on Government work. The tug was shipped last October, one of the many which the local firm has built to do a job in many far distant points.

Mary Firchuk - Ex Mossey. Brought to Thunder Bay, ON from Gimli, MB to be rebuilt as pleasure tug. Individual got divorced and tug has been sitting for years.

RBF notes: Thunder Bay, ON, July 28th, 2007. They moved the Onaman and Mossey to the other side of the TBHI yard alongside the fence. I gather that the portion of property they were sitting on was sold. Doesn't seem that any work is being done or has been done on either boat in the last few years.

Mike Hanchar comments (Jan. 26, 2020): February 17th 2016. The 18m(59ft) Tug MOSSEY built in 1949 by Russel Brothers Limited in Owen Sound Ontario...originally the Tug was owned by the Ministry of Public Works in Ottawa Ontario. Onaman and Mary Firchuk now sit in the former Thunder Bay Harbour Improvements Yard (now owned by DJ truck & trailer service) in Thunder Bay Ontario. The Mary Firchuk (ex Mossey) is owned by Rob Antoniazzi. He was going to convert it to a yacht before he got divorced. A set of drawings was made for the conversion, designed by Robert Allen designs.
